Switching Your Apple Developer Account to a Business Profile
Updated 3 months agoIf you originally signed up for Apple’s Developer Program as an Individual or Sole Proprietor, you’ll need to upgrade your account to a Company or Organization.
This is important because Apple only gives full access and permissions to company-level accounts, which is required to launch your app with Vegacart.
Why This Is Important
Apple limits what Individual accounts can do. For your app to go live, your business must be recognized as a legal entity like an LLC, Corporation, or Limited Partnership. If you're registered as an Individual or Sole Proprietor, Apple will not allow us to connect or manage your app on your behalf.
You’ll first need to update your business license, then follow the steps below to migrate your account.
Step-by-Step: Upgrade to a Company/Organization
-
Go to Apple Developer Account and sign in with your Apple ID
-
Click on Membership in the left-hand menu
-
Scroll down and click on Need to edit this information? in the bottom right
-
In the pop-up, choose Provide your new organization information
-
Fill out the Individual to Organization Membership Update form with the correct business details
-
Review everything and hit Submit
What Happens Next
Once submitted, Apple will send you a confirmation email. They usually follow up within 24 to 48 hours. Sometimes they might ask for additional documents to confirm your business registration.
If you’re unsure about anything during the process, just reach out to your Account Manager or Implementation Specialist at Vegacart. We’re here to make sure everything runs smoothly.
