FIREBASE ANALYTICS: KEY METRICS TO KNOW
Updated 1 month agoTo help you understand how your mobile app is performing, here are some important metrics you can monitor using Firebase.
App Performance & User Behavior
1. App Adoption Rate
Track how many of your existing store customers have installed your mobile app. While Firebase does not directly provide this, you can calculate it by dividing your total app installs (found under 'Audiences' > 'All Users') by your total Shopify customer count.
2. In-App Purchase Rate
Want to know how many app users actually make a purchase? Divide your total number of app installs by the number of app-based purchasers. Purchaser data can be found under 'Audiences' > 'Purchasers'.
3. Average Engagement Time
Monitor how long users are spending in your app during a selected time frame. This tells you how engaging your app experience is overall.
4. Engagement Time Per User
This shows the average time each active user is spending on your app within a given period.
5. Sessions Per User
This metric helps identify how frequently users return to your app. Firebase shows this as session count per user within the selected timeframe.
6. In-App Event Tracking
Understand what actions users are taking within your app, such as page views, add to cart, or promotion views. This helps assess which features or pages are driving engagement.
7. User Location Insights
Check how users are engaging with your app from different countries. This is useful if your app is available in multiple regions.
Revenue & Conversions
1. Revenue from App Users
Measure how much of your store's total revenue is coming from the mobile app. This helps gauge the overall value of your app audience.
2. Total App Revenue
Track the total revenue your app has generated within a selected period.
3. Revenue Per User
Calculate how much each user spends on average through the app. This helps determine the ROI per user.
4. Conversion Events
Look at conversion rates based on key events like session start, item view, and search result views. This helps optimize the customer journey within the app.
Retention Metrics
1. Repeat Customer Rate
Track how many users come back to shop again. An increase in this rate means better customer loyalty.
2. New vs Returning Users
See how many of your app users are new versus those who have returned. This provides a snapshot of retention health.
3. Lifetime Value (LTV)
Measure the average revenue generated from new users over their first few months. This metric helps you evaluate how valuable each new app user is in the long run.
