Setting Up a Compliant Privacy Policy for Your App
Updated 3 months agoA privacy policy is a legal must-have. It explains how you collect, use, and protect your customers' data and it’s required by both Apple and Google before your app can be published.
If you don’t already have one, don’t worry. Here’s how to create a privacy policy in just a few minutes using Shopify’s free tool.
Steps to Create Your Privacy Policy
Go to Shopify’s Privacy Policy Generator
This tool is free and easy to use. You do not need a trial or account.
Scroll down and check the box:
“I’ll skip the Shopify trial for now. Just create my policy.”
Fill in your store details
Add your business name, email, and website URL. Once done, hit “Send me my privacy policy”.
Check your inbox
You’ll receive your custom privacy policy by email within seconds.
Add It to Your Website
Once you’ve got the policy text:

Create a new page on your Shopify store and paste the privacy policy there.

Link it in your footer so it’s easy to find. This is a requirement for app approval.

Update Your App Listing in Vegacart
Once your privacy policy is live on your website:

Log in to your Vegacart dashboard

Head to App Settings > App Listing

Paste the link under Privacy Policy URL
This step is essential since without a live privacy policy, your app will be rejected by the App Store and Google Play during review.
