What is Smile.io?

Smile.io is a leading loyalty program platform that helps brands reward their best customers for shopping, engaging, and spreading the word. It’s designed to create a sense of community while boosting customer retention.

Why Use Smile.io with Vegacart?

Shoppers love rewards and in fact, most customers are more likely to make a purchase if they know they’ll earn points. By connecting Smile.io to your Vegacart-powered mobile app, you can let customers earn and redeem points directly inside the app, making loyalty feel effortless.

With this integration, you can:

  • Reward customers for valuable actions like making a purchase or leaving a review

  • Offer tier-based VIP programs for exclusive perks

  • Allow in-app redemption for fixed-amount or percentage-based discounts

This makes it easy to keep your best customers coming back, while also gamifying the shopping experience.

Steps:

  1. Log in to your Shopify admin and open the Smile: Rewards & Loyalty app.

  2. Go to Settings and then Platform.

  3. Click Show More to view your private API details.

  4. Copy the following details into the corresponding fields in your Vegacart Smile.io integration settings:

    • API Key

    • Shop Domain

    • Rewards Web URL

    • Your Balance Label (the wording you want customers to see for their points balance)

    • Display Loyalty Type (either total points or tier name for gamification)

  5. Choose whether to show or hide the tiered points slider and its associated copy.

  6. Upload a custom banner to match your brand colors and style.

  7. Add your customer referral program description and share message to encourage referrals.

Once saved, your loyalty program will appear within your Vegacart app.

Key Things to Know

  • Customers must be logged in to earn or redeem rewards.

  • Subscription products added via ReCharge aren’t compatible with in-app loyalty features.

  • Rewards redeemed will apply automatically at checkout as a discount or gift card.

  • Once points are redeemed for a reward, they can’t be reversed, but if a purchase isn’t completed, the reward will remain available in the customer’s “Unclaimed” section for future use.
